Message Professor Falmea Administrator Charm(s): 763 Apr 23, 5:41 PM 1 Charm(s) Item UI Changes Hi Wizards, I wanted to chat about the new Inventory Revamp, why we made the changes and why we need to move forward with a new UI format. We changed the UI mainly for two reasons. First, with the inclusion of item sets, there simply became too much important information to display on a single pane. This means we cannot just roll back to a previous version of the UI – item sets would be unable to be displayed, and we know you don't want that. Secondly, even before item sets were added, many higher level items with a lot of stats scrolled off the screen already at lower resolutions, so players were missing key information. That’s why we went with the tabbed approach – to allow everything show up properly and display all pertinent information at all supported resolutions. We’re aware of the frustration in requiring more clicks to get to the information you were previously able to access with a quick mouseover. Solutions are diligently being pursued by our team. We’re looking into showing more information in the main preview window and more easily accessible expanded view options in coming updates. This includes ensuring continued support for our macOS players. Thanks for your feedback and patience. Ok, I'll leave Falmea's first point alone, I never did anything with gear sets.

But her second point meant something to me. I could never see, for instance, all of the stats for any of the Aphrodite wands (or as she says, any of the high level gear with lots of info), because I play at low resolution (800 x 600) to fit four windows on my screen. So this will be a benefit to me, so long as I am willing to

Take a jump to the left
And then a click to the right
Put my hands on my hips
And bring my knees in tight
It's the PvP bias
That drives us quite insane

I don't think I have ever seen it put quite that way but..... I only use the lower resolution if I have 2 screens on the same monitor and that is only when I am making trades with wizards on my other accounts. If I am questing, I have a 2nd monitor so I can run full screen on both. And I do have one of the Aphrodite wands but haven't had any issues with seeing all of the info.

Honestly, item sets aren't terribly useful as far as I've seen. If they don't add to popular sets, I don't really see anyone using them at all. Willing to take that as a casualty to go back to a previous version.

I just wanted to thank you for the huge laugh and the trip down memory lane. It took half a second for it to register, and then I heard the old man with the pointer in his hand say "It's just a jump to the left..." and the whole darn song broke out in my head. I'll probably spend the rest of the night trying to get it out of my head, lol.

No mention of the fact that we can't see which version of a tc we have received or which beastmoon idol we have received. Text only is fully insufficient to describe the rewards. How can they not see that?

I rarely play any more but I adore to keep up to date on central as to what goes on.

I honestly have to say I hate this change, as blunt as that is. I hate it I never struggled with resolution issues (beyond some odd item with 15 lines of stats) or something I'm sure but it wasn't much of annoyance. So can't relate to that.

They could've just added another stat "box" beside the first one labeled "item_name contd.." or something as an alternative, or maybe even a hover over with with "Arrows" we could instead press 1 2 or 3 to move between pages? Something.

When we're looking at equipment/stats were looking at equipment or stats so who cares if it fills the whole screen?

Having to go through 3 tabs to see stats, set bonus, and spells is absolutely daunting I'm in shock this reached live realm They must have really wanted this to be done.

That being said I'm glad they're looking to other options because this was really an inconvenient way to go about it.

As someone pointed out in another thread it also removed image previews of snacks/reagants upon hover in banks and I find that just pointless to have changed, as those items never over stretched/filled the screen with details like equipment would. (Here)

Also small suggestion change the "Adjustments" tab to "Set effects" tab and the name of the actual changes "Set effects, or set bonuses." I had no clue what adjustments meant before I clicked on it to see. Adjustments seems strangely labeled and imo too vague.

I hate to be that guy but @Sparck I just want to be sure you have your eyes on this feedback, as I know the decision was already made but we're still hopeful for changes in how it functions.

The system is broke now. I'm so severely disappointed with likely never seeing the old system again I'm upset having it stuck the new way when the old system wasn't an issue in the first place. I'm tired of having to click through so many additional steps to see what I have with the gear. I don't want additional steps just the compare gear and what I gain or lose. I was able to figure it out without the new UI's changes by myself. For all things good and holy, put the original system back and scrap this garbage system that very, VERY small amount people like.

In short, they already know what they'll be doing and it will more closely resemble the old UI, with jewels and cards visible without any click.

I get how annoying the new UI is, I detest it too. But as Leah said in her post, it was needed to implement gear sets as well as a highly requested update - not releasing it would leave people unhappy. So let's give them some time to make these changes, there's no ideal or immediate "fix" to the new UI but KI's response to our feedback was very adequate and assuring - to say the least.

from what i see the new stuff is all stuff you look at when you are doing a decision what is a very small change with a new item. compare stats between 2 items is good and show gear sets ect is good BUT you only might want to see them and even then its only when pick between a few choice not entire bazaar ect.

def need to see full stats cards and socket info all at one time as we scroll. no clicks.
the new stuff should be on a tab we click to cos they are not the first thing what you need to know to decide a item.
