Hi everyone! Let's take some time and chat about something new, shall we?

For this edition of Feedback Friday, let's stick with the new and shiny theme and consider your first footsteps into Wizard City. In the first hour of play in the Spiral, what is the ONE thing you'd like to see us improve? We're excited to see your thoughts!

Sometimes, there are just technical limitations that make changing things difficult to impossible, and though we possess all manner of magic wands here, there are technological beasts out there that are beyond our grasp. Also, we realize that some of these topics may have been addressed before in other threads - sometimes it's good to pick up a discussion again. Very recent, I have started some new wizards to hold my tc. I just love Wizard City area and if I could see one change, it would be to open up Fire Cat Alley, Cyclops Lane and Colossus Boulevard to free play. Being the spiral is much bigger now then when it first started, I think this would be a lovely way to let new wizards try out more of Wizards101.

I thought about this earlier as I created a balance wizard so that I could have one wizard from each school, it would be nice to get a little bit of a feel of it before you advance further into the spiral so that being said, I agreed 110%!

Making all of Wizard City free would be great. It'd definitely lure in more Players and give those without Membership more places to go/things to do. A lot of Players hit that Paywall within their "first hour of play", so completely erasing it for Wizard City would help them stick around a lot longer.
And if this is ever implemented, refunding Players of the Crowns they spent would be a good idea as well!

In my first hour of game play I'd love to have the game launcher load more quickly so that I'm actually playing for more of that first hour rather than staring at my screen. Just a few days ago I noticed that Jack Hallow was loading! I was wondering why it was the beginning of February and I'm sitting here waiting for the Halloween info to load.

I agree with this. All of Wizard City should be available. Being able to complete this portion of the game would really expose new players to what Wizard101 is all about. It's so small a portion of the game that making it free shouldn't cost KI much revenue. I wanted to comment on this from the perspective of a crowns player. I purchased Wizard City and I would not be upset if KI now made it free. The game needs new players. If this is a mechanism to get them, I'm not going to complain.

It might sound too radical on first read, but I think it would be beneficial for the playerbase and Kingsisle's finances to make the entirety of Wizard City free, in addition to the first area of Krokotopia. This will give new players a feel of the game, and the concept of progressing through the worlds is something that would encourage people to purchase memberships/crowns imo.

I believe this was done on the UK (gameforge) server, iirc.

I feel at this point in time, even veteran players are completely okay with all of WC being free to play. At the time of the game opening up in 2008/2009, the amount that was given to players made sense since the level cap was 50 and DS was the last world.

Now, it just doesn't make sense at all. The game is touted as "free to play", but it barely is with the amount of stuff that is stuck behind a paywall. Letting people especially kids play longer will lure them in more -- I remember how intrigued I was when I got to Bartleby and realized everybody was going in and out, knowing there was so much more game content behind there.

I think leaving Colossus Boulevard closed since it's a side area would be interesting too. It's not necessary to complete WC, and if there's just one lil area locked off... people might be inclined to buy the area or buy a sub to see it. I always like doing all the areas.

I would not care being compensated. I can make back the like, idk, 10-20 dollars to open WC in a single shift at work. That pays for a meal but it's not like I'll sweat it. If someone would, then maybe they need to rethink their economic choices perhaps.

Well @Sparck it seems that most people are one the same page here about Wizard City area being open more to free to play.

A lot of Players are suggesting leaving a few Areas of WC closed, and I have to respectfully disagree. A lot of Quests tie into different Areas, some Main and Spell Quests included! I feel as if it would be a lot more beneficial and easier to just unlock all of WC, instead of leaving certain Areas locked.
