      Hey,
I'm confused about what the columns mean. Can you describe how to read the table?

      Which table: simplified or full?

Alright. The Full Data table is basically raw data: it was copy-pasted directly from our Excel spreadsheets, which can be downloaded here. In the spreadsheets, it still goes by its older name, the Unranked Table, but I'll stick with Full Data to keep things simple.

Base Names is for the machine-readable versions of each talent. The numbers in front represent each talent's rarity value (Common = 1, Uncommon = 2, Rare = 3, Ultra-Rare = 4, Epic = 5, etc.) -- these numbers are always single-digit, allowing our databases to support up to 10 rarities. Base names are specifically reserved for spreadsheet-related purposes such as updating the database itself or operating its genome calculator.

Sort Names is for the Project O spelling variants of each talent. They also happen to be base names without their rarity numbers. As the name implies, sort names were originally intended to allow the Full Data table to be sorted alphabetically (way back in 2012, mind you); but over the years, they lost their original purpose and gradually evolved into just another way to refer to talents in the spreadsheets. Because sort names follow Project O's style conventions, their names do not match up with their in-game counterparts. For example, sort names lack most punctuation marks like commas, exclamations, and especially hyphens -- allowing spreadsheet users to omit them in case they have to manually type them in for some reason. Sort names also sport vastly different parenthetical than their Wiki-based counterparts (e.g. Balanceblade (Ivory S D) vs. Balanceblade (Maycast) ) -- as a general rule of thumb, a sort name's parenthetical is solely determined by the pet that first introduced them (e.g. "Ivory S D" refers to the Ivory Shenlong Dragon).

Wiki Names is for the Wiki spelling variants of each talent. This one should be straightforward: they're how each talent is spelled on the Wizard101 Central Wiki. Although you'll sometimes see them with {curly} parentheticals: this typically occurs whenever Project O acknowledges a duplicate talent doesn't yet exist on the Wiki.

Ranking is for the ranges of possible indices for each talent on a theoretically completed order list. In a perfect world, each talent would have just one index to itself; but sadly, our order list is only 97.71% complete as of writing -- meaning lots of talents are competing for sole ownership over lots of indices. Project O keeps track of each talent's claims in the form of ranges. Spritely, for instance, has a ranking of 139-141!, so it'll eventually be locked into indices 139, 140, or 141 in a perfect world. There can only be one, as the old saying goes. Rankings generally show how talents are ordered in relation to all other talents: talents with lesser-numbered rankings are almost always above talents with greater-numbered rankings, like how Pain-Giver (092-093!) is above (109-109!), or how Unicorn (256-257!) is below Life-Bringer (245-248!).

Poss is for the total number of indices in each talents' rankings. Posses express how wide a talent's ranking is, and to a lesser extent, how many talents are left in each talent's unranked list. To be frank with you, its a legacy metric from the early 2010s that really only serves one purpose: to highlight priority targets.

Unranked List is for each talent's "competition". As stated before, multiple talents are constantly fighting over the same indices: the unranked list shows each competitor. The term "unranked" refers to situations where we don't know if one talent is above or below another. In a perfect world, unranked talents wouldn't exist; but sadly, our world isn't perfect, so we have to stay ahead of the competition.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. This clears up a lot of things that I was making assumptions about.

I was trying to use the rank column to figure out talent manifestation order to deduce which pet may fail in the future (and cut losses early). I'm wondering if there's any gathered info on that and if that's something that could be added to the table as a column.

I see. We don't deal with manifestation, I'm afraid: only talentpool slots. There's no way for us to process data on that if it's even possible to collect.

Since I'm not seeing the talent Windstorm Trained
(#) in the spreadsheet/table, does that mean information is needed about its slot? I don't see any recent threads about it.

Is that how new findings should be submitted? By making a thread about them?

Yep. Windstorm Trained is absent. In fact, Myth Finder is the only unlockable talent I was able to add. Between you and me, locked talents in general give me anxiety because the game doesn't differentiate between unlocked talents and old-school talents. And because I don't really play the game much anymore, I can't know for certain which new talents need those symbols and which ones don't. It's actually a pretty big problem.

Now that I'm aware Windstorm Trained is lockable, I'll hit up the kiosk sometime tomorrow during my downtime for some data.

And yes, it's generally a good idea to post new findings as new threads so that it's easier for me and sometimes other to look over. You can submit multiple findings at once within the same thread. Don't forget the screenshots .

      Hope this helps!
