I did it several times last night, and not once did it freeze. There was one time when we killed the Rat and a minion was left over. I finished it off, but the Rat was back in his spot with full health. We managed to defeat him a second time and the cutscene worked like usual. I don't think we got double drops though.

Just did it yesterday with no freeze bugs either. I did with an all fire team in like Round 8 or something like that, it was a very good group I had so my fire is now done with Polaris.
