I agree, the Enchanted Armament is awesome. You could use it on a Spirit Blade, Death Blade, and Dark Pact. And stack two of them, and add treasures. That's 2 x (45+35+50+40)+45. You could also add Feints.

@winterborn , could you add more to the training point part? How about training Myth to Minotaur for the Mutate, or even Life to Sprite for the mutate?

About pets, what about an Avenging Fossil? Probably with Resist, Deer Knight Card, and Maycast Healing. A Feint Card means even more stacking!

I agree with the pet suggestion. I'll add a quote to that part of the guide. An enchanted armament is actually the best pet to go for if you're going to make a starter pet for a character and even just make one that's specialized for your character.

As you can see I'm not a fan of critical pet talents as I only mentioned it once, I put it there for diversity because I have, surprisingly, met a lot of people that find the talent useful (beats me why) personally, I wouldn't go for it but a good guide has variety of options and some people will argue 1% is better than nothing (not me, but some.)

I will work on adding a part about Mutates available to necromancers. Personally I don't find them useful but that doesn't means future necromancers shouldn't know about them

Avenging Fossil is a pet we don't get our hands on until level 98, its a useful pet nonetheless but hard to get your hands on at early levels. I could come up with a list of useful pets to use and add that.

Also really have enjoyed this guide. I am a theurgist by nature, but have started a death character and used to have to close my eyes during every drain. Now, I am totally ok with it . This guide has helped me accept myself. Thank you, @winterborn

Re: The Living Dead: A Guide on How to be a Necromancer

@winterborn , the Level 10 gear you put on the guide isn't that good. Also, it's +10 Death Damage, not +10% Death Damage.
      Just letting you know.

EDIT: I understand the Training Point part, but this will leave you with a TON of training points. Also, training Life/Myth(Myth with a mastery, Life depends) not only gets you useful spells and mutates, but also lets you use your Spirit Blade.

@winterborn , still can't stop admiring your guide. Could you add photos for more deck setups? Especially at level 16-48, because that's the time your wizard develops the most. Also, there's a Deer Knight Card Jewel and a Talent Jewel.

Hey, first of all, thank you for your input on the guide. I have read it and I appreciate it. Sorry I haven't answered to any of it yet but we're having a few weather and connection mishaps down here where I live so I've barely had a chance to log in to central at all.

Once I get a chance to sit down and review the guide I'll answer your feedback properly.

      Thanks!!

Training Myth to Minotaur alone is not that great a perspective, but getting up to Earthquake maybe worth it if you have Myth mastery. Once you've gone that way, adding Mutate Minotaur seems like a reasonable proposition.

Mutate Sprite isn't worth it, IMHO, but hey - it's just one TP since most people train Life at least to Sprite (if not Satyr) anyway. With the abundance of training points one can afford that easily.

Avenging Fossil is a great pet, with two really helpful cards (a stacking Deathblade and a Feint) and one situational, cheaper version of the namesake spell. If you don't need to stack some insane number of blades, it is on par with Enchanted Armament. However, when you don't need to stack too many blades, a Shadow Beast or anything with Balanceblade/Dragonblade is better because it doesn't clog your deck with two extra spells. Anyway, I have an Enchanted Armament with Feinting Spell and I use that against bosses, but not any of my Avenging Fossils...

      Guide has been updated:

I've added the training points suggestions for mutate sprite and minotaur. I'm currently working on deck set ups although trying to remember how I prepared for battles when I was a younger wizard is quite hard after all the time that's passed.

I'll get to work on the level 10 gear to add a better option, certainly a +10 is not good at all.

Next stop: preparing a set up for 110 wizards.

If anyone has anymore input for this guide, it will be greatly appreciated as I'd like to keep it updated as often as possible specially now that so much new content will become available with the release of the third arc.

Thanks to everyone who has left their feedback to this point!

Re: The Living Dead: A Guide on How to be a Necromancer

After re-reading this thread and the replies, I realized that there finally is a reliable way of stacking three different sharpened blades in the same deck. After Polaris update, we got the ability to "disable" item cards from our decks. I'm already using that feature for wand hits, but can go for more.

For example, here is a way to stack quite a few different Death Blades (for example) on yourself (not counting treasure cards, just the permanent stuff):
      1 - learned Deathblade, +40%
2 - Sharpened Deathblade created by the learned Sharpened Blade spell, +50%
3 - Sharpened Deathblade created by a pet's Sharpened Blade (Enchanted Armament), +50%
      or
3.1 - Item card Deathblade from Avenging Fossil/Shadow Beast pet, +40%
4 - Sharpened Deathblade created by a Sharpened Blade from an item (such as Jewel of the Apiary on Moon's Glow Jewel), +50%
5 - Item card Deathblade from, say, Dire Chieftain's Helm, +45%

This is a minimum (if we go with 3.1) of +539.45%, achievable with 3.1 route already. It goes up to +585.125% if we go with 3 (using Enchanted Armament). Figure in the Balanceblade/Spirit Blade from the amulet and you've got some scary damage going out .

However, this latter (using Sharpened Blade from a pet) was not practical until now - a Mega EA would have 3 Sharpened Blades, indistinguishable from the amulet's ones during combat. Now there is a way to make sure there are only different versions in the deck: equip EA pet but not the amulet, disable two of the three Sharpened Blade item cards, equip the amulet, enjoy!

I guess I'm going to try that very soon .

P.S.: Also disregard my remark (in my previous comment) about Animated Fossil clogging your deck - with this 'item card disable' feature, it is no longer a problem .
My wizards: Corwin Swiftcatcher (Death), Alexandra Winterflower (Ice), Darby Firebreeze (Fire), Katie Wildheart (Storm), Heather (Life), Sarah LionHeart (Myth).
