Well Call of Khrulhu could probably be from Khrysalis due to the deep spawn running around at the beginning :P

      Re: Abominable Weaver is Abominable

i see a lot of people commenting on why she is going out of the norm and playing offensive with an ice and i can tell you from experience it totally works lol, i know an ice who can get almost 600 ice critical with 85% damage, ok resist and about 6000 health... its like a super health storm honestly and thats what she runs, i have faced her and its not an easy thing to get past so going outside the norm is exactly what makes this so crazy awesome. as for the spell scar you gotta realize that every bit counts with shrike, say you got 2 shadow pips, well you can attack with this, deal good damage then shield shrike and then hit again and shield shrike, thats 2 turns almost wasted with shrike so just gotta be smart with it

No one said it is wrong for ice to be offensive, just wrong to blame KI for making them weak.

I don't think anyone's been commenting on her playing offensively. Ice is designed to be a school built for duration, not damage so expecting Ice's spells to be on par with other schools' damage is kind of ridiculous.

"Khrulhu" is most likely a portmanteau of "Khrysalis" and "Cthulhu." So yes, I'd say it hails from Khrysalis.

These are shadow-infused spells. Shadow originates from Khrysalis and the spells all resemble insects/arthropods/whatevers -- which are inhabitants of Khrysalis.

The one exception to this would be Gaze of Fate, I suppose, but you could also argue that it has some insectoid-like qualities such as the multiple eyes. (That's kind of a stretch, but y'know. *shrug*)

Simply to argue that the spells don't look like they belong in Khrysalis seems a little ridiculous to me, that's all.

More on-topic, saying that someone should get more accustomed to what their school was "designed" to do instead of what they want it to do and what it can do is just silly to me. I get that KI is going to design Ice (which means their gear and their spells, etc.) a certain way, but telling someone to drop everything and pick up another school just because they want to hit hard is a little condescending. EVERYONE wants to hit hard somewhere in the game. You can't tank through every battle in the game, that's not how it works.

Anyway.. I'm just going to stay neutral on the spells and go along with any changes they may undergo. There's been a lot of feedback thrown around since test opened, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were altered.

      Re: Abominable Weaver is Abominable

I hate spiders and even I thought this animation wasn't too bad.

The ice spell and death spell animations were the cool ones. The rest I thought were awful but that's an issue in itself.

The stats on the spells are entirely overpowered for some especially Storm and Death.

Some of the stats are so weak it they're not worth the cheap pip cost even (Fire and Balance)

The ice and life stats aren't bad at least the after effect is what is useful.

Please change the Fire animation and spell. Please change the balance animaton as well

      Re: Abominable Weaver is Abominable

Ice is far far from weak. I would know even though mines only Lvl 40 but with the Aquila gear, wand, triple damage proof fairy, my damage stands at 45%. I basicly one shot everything with monstrous tc enchant blizzards. The new gear in test will easily push ice damage to 80+ range with 50+ resist to all, having 6.5k health, with flawless accuracy and good pip chance. That's nowhere near weak. Colossal on that spider is scary. 1225-1425. That's crazy >.>

I'm expecting changes to the spells as well (for better or worse), but Abominable Weaver is far from being a weak spell. It lets Ice wizards throw down a ton of damage to an enemy and they get rewarded with a strong shield for doing so. What's weak about that?

Ice has plenty of offensive potential in both questing and playing through the meta. We see this with Snow Angel, King Artorius, Lord of Winter, Woolly Mammoth, and Winter Moon. With Ice getting a little less and less resist, a lot of their popular spells provide great utility to make up for their weaker base damage.

well the thing is, ice is going back to where it belongs. No more fire and storm immunity but having 50+ universal resist with all other stats increasing is a fair benefit for losing that insane resist. Infact ice is almost as strong as the hardest hitting schools with the new malistaire gear. It's waterworks age all over again where strategy is coming back to a more balanced playing field with all classes
