What do you think of Combat Idle?

I can see why they implemented this Combat Idle thing. There is, on occasion, a player that jumps into my battle and merely stands there, doing nothing, while I wait for the timer to expire on them. But... this does not happen inside dungeons or instances where the battles can go on for many rounds. This usually only happens in street battles which last 3-4 rounds (give or take). And, TBH, this is still a very rare event. Since this function activates only after a player has been inactive in the battle for 2 rounds it only saves me from waiting on the timer for 1 or 2 rounds. However... I do play solo quite a bit and occasionally I do lose connection while in battle. I rely on that timer to delay the battle as much as possible while I am establishing a new connection. With this Combat Idle in place I would get 2 rounds to reconnect before the battle started auto-passing me. This would mean I would take many rounds of attacks much faster than I normally would without Idle in place since there would be no delay between rounds at all. The result could be ugly. Maybe if they made Combat Idle disabled when there is only 1 wizard in the battle? This would probably solve this problem.

I was surprised when it activated with just myself and a minion in the battle, but I didn't see any downside to it. You do have a point about taking damage faster while afk or during a lost connection - I hadn't thought about that.

I personally think there should be a option to enable/disable it in the "Options" menu for predicaments like these, so the player can choose whether or not to have it on.

There have been countless battle where I'm helping someone with a boss and they randomly afk on me. It can be seen in many different ways but it's really dwindled down to 2 ways to react or think.

A.) The player has lost connection.
Or
B.) The player has gone afk.

Maybe see how this Combat Idle feature goes and in the near future an option to have it NOT activate when you're around friends could appear. (since your friends would be able to understand and tolerate) the feature can deactivate itself. Also I think this option should only activate when another person joins. Because who doesn't like to go make a sandwich when soloing? In all seriousness though, it would be nice if this feature is disabled for solo players.

I like it. Every other time I run mirror lake or waterworks, some joker decides it's a good idea to just walk away and make a triple decker 4-cheese hamstrami on rye while the clock runs down for several consecutive turns.

Yes, it does happen in dungeons - and it's extra difficult to finish the dungeon when one person drops out because they decided they just had to have a quick mirror lake run as their family is loading up the minivan to head out for a two-week fishing trip to Lake Winibigoshish and BEEP BEEP oh that's dad, gotta run, maybe they won't notice I'm not here...

There are people who do this on purpose to troll dungeons, and this takes all the "fun" out of deliberately sitting around burning the round timer. I'm sure the trolls have other things they can do to make my mornings intolerable but this is one thing that's long overdue.

I agree that it should not apply to single players in a battle. However, what I don't agree with is that if someone goes idle in a multi-wizard battle they still get credit and drops for the battle. Especially in a 3-4 round mob battle, or in a boss battle where they are taking up space that another player could use to actually help with the battle.

This feature is far more useful than you think. I don't know how you've been avoiding the people who afk to build a Roman colosseum in the middle of a dungeon, but be thankful.
Its completely unnecessary to activate with only one person in the battle, though. I'd recommend sending in a suggestion while its still in test and there's a chance something might be done about it. o<o

The trolls are usually on the busiest servers. It would not help them if they were running around an empty or lightly populated server looking for free rides. Since I stay on the less populated servers this problem is a rare one. And as far as dungeons go.. If you don't allow them to enter with you then it is not possible for them to create this problem inside one. Dungeons have sigils and if they aren't on the sigil they can't troll inside your dungeon. When I play with friends however, there are times when one has to afk for any number of reasons (answer a door, phone or tend to a child, spouse or pet maybe check something cooking for dinner in the oven, bathroom break, move laundry, etc). In those cases all of us want to give that friend as much time as they require without them losing 5 turns or a dozen turns or missing the remainder of the battle entirely. It is a rare occasion this happens during a battle... most times we try to deal with these issues between battles not during. But sometimes it is unavoidable. For this reason I believe this "Idle" function should be at the discretion of each player. Let us decide if we want this turned on or off.
