      Pet hatching question

Okay so I am trying to go for a pet with Spell-proof, Spell-defying, Sharp-shot, Defender and Pain-giver. I've come quite far with this pet but I just cannot seem to get Defy to manifest and Hearty to go away-or at least not manifest, the chances of it leaving my talent pool are slim I know.

This is Lucy, my best shot so far, she failed at Mega with Hearty.

All she needs is Defy. I know pets with Defy manifested in them are a better shot for getting it to manifest on a new pet, but there are some issues I'm having over which pet to use.

Below is Hunter, my old pet.

This pet has Defy manifested, as well as most of the other talents I want, and Hearty is not in the talent pool. The issue here is that his stats are lower and I have the 250's that I want. Therefore hatching with him will lower my stats-although I suppose eventually they will be 250's again-I'm just worried that might not happen before the pet is perfect. The other problem I have is Defender is not in his talent pool and so I have to get it to transfer and manifest again.

Here I have Baby Casey, an alternate option for Defy.

This pet has the 250's I want, Defy manifested and Defender in it's talent pool. Sadly, this pet has Hearty manifested which is what has been plaguing all of my hatches.

So my question is, which of those two pets, given what I've described of them, would offer me a better shot at getting me Defy and not having Hearty manifest? Keeping in mind that I need/want the 250's that I have on Lucy and Baby Casey and that hatching with Hunter would mess up my stats risking a perfect pet before perfect stats. I would really hate to have to hatch the perfect pet with my second best attempt to get my stats back up as that could just spiral downwards into more problems.

*Also, just out of curiosity, when Hearty manifests and bumps my Strength up and sometimes over 250 is that a 250 that can transfer in a hatch or will it be the base stat?

      Re: Pet hatching question

just my opinion, and I know from discussions I've had in the hatchery that there are a lot of people that disagree with me but I've always discarded any pets that show spell defy. It is just not enough resist to really matter. Better to try to get fairy or energizing battery in there as a healing talent.

I guess it may matter somewhat if you are using this pet for pvp, but still it is just not very much resist even if it is there all the time.

The bump that hearty gives you in your stat numbers is only manifest in the pet that shows it. As far as I know 250 is the max for any stat in a newly hatched pet. It does not affect your base stat for future hatching with that pet.

      Re: Pet hatching question

If you stick with self hatching I would not even train any pet with the hearty. Just hatch another one. But suggest you post over in the meet ups section for some help. As to defy when they nerfed the heals to me it raised the value of defy. I can go through several battles with out a single heal on a three heal talent pet. But that defy is there every single time I take a hit.

I'm not training any pets that get Hearty. Unfortunately Test is not up and I'm impatient so I don't know my talents ahead of time. Every time I get Hearty I stop training. Also, if Hearty is not manifest but will manifest is it just as strong towards getting Hearty as if the talent had manifested?

      Re: Pet hatching question

Hatch it with something that has the two most important talents plus Spell-defying, doesn't have Hearty, and has high stats.
Do that until you get something with high stats, no Hearty, and two good talents at adult.
Then create a few more, and start taking them to Ancient, then Epic, then Mega.

It sounds like you have a sticky Hearty talent.
The alternative is to go back through your older iterations, and find one that didn't have Hearty in it to begin with.

I don't want to turn this into a discussion about Spell-defying, so I won't comment.

Okay so pretty much I should hatch with Hunter because he lacks Hearty-which is probably a sticky talent-and has four of the talents I need? And if so, when hatching with Hunter could I use Lucy or should I go back to my 1st gen ram with Defender? (I'm sort of building this pet from scratch as I have yet to see anyone with this pet in game)

      Re: Pet hatching question

If Defender is strong, I would look for something outside your stock with Proof, Pain, Sharp and Defy, that doesn't have Heart.

I'd also look for something that doesn't have that third rare (possible Health Gift), if possible.

Otherwise, I'd try for Defender with Proof, Defy, and Pain.

The closest that I have is this:

It gets Sharp-shot at Mega, and received Amplifier at Epic, but doesn't have Defender.
p.m. me if you want a hatch.

Your intuition is probably as strong as mine, and there are definitely others more knowledgeable than I around here.
So it's up to you to decide.
