How to deal with Egomaniacs in the arena

Many times I run into wizards who are more powerful than myself. I will put up the best fight that I can, and I expect them to do the same. I have no problem with being pounded quickly and put out of my misery.

However, sometimes you run into wizards who just want to play and have fun showing how awesome and powerful they are. They put up defenses and then just toy with you. They will laugh and attempt to make you feel small.

Well, I like to toy back... I put up the best, most annoying defense that I can, and then I just wait until the timer counts down to a couple seconds to finish my turn. It doesn't take long before they discover what I am up to. The shoe is on now on my foot, and I am controlling the game, even if I will eventually lose. They will usually attempt to kill me faster, which is what I want.

Many times I will gain their respect, and we will become friends. Sometimes not... but that's how I deal with these people.

I read Warprat's post that he only did that because they were toying with him - in other words they started it first - and he was getting revenge/giving them a taste of their own medicine/teaching them a lesson.

Hopefully I'm not wrong. I don't think that Warprat behaves like a prat normally going on, I think it is only when he is provoked. And what he does is so much better than throwing a paddy and calling the other wizard names, etc.

I hardly ever talk to anyone besides team members during pvp if I do 1-1 I do not respond to anyone at all I am there to do my thing regardless of peoples comments I use my strategy because I like it if others don't too bad. Using stalling tactics is ok in my book especially if your opponent is becoming annoying to you. PVP measures your determination as well as skill luck plays a small roll but preparation is the ultimate prelude for luck IMO.

Out of curiosity, how do you know they're toying with you? Depending on the level, there are many players that like to take it slow and be sure of victory before finishing it. As for the laughing, it's more of a mindless taunt.

How do you have a set up to play normally and one to annoy at the same time, and how do you know when to switch?

Are there lots of cards in your hand that you rarely play?

I purposefully build my decks to be annoying. It makes people play weird and i get the upper hand pretty fast. Are you 100% sure its not just their play style?
