      Mastery amulet for death?

I was thinking about getting a mastery amulet for my death wizard, but am not sure how much it would help. I was kind of thinking about balance since it has a lower level aoe spell as well as helping hands / availing hands. Does this make sense? or is there another choice that makes sense? Does death even need mastery?

      Re: Mastery amulet for death?

My death usually uses a shango amulet, but, when he was little, I used a myth mastery and absolutely loved it. You get frog as an aoe early, you can learn death minotaur, the enchant card in celestia for regular minotaur, you get earthquake for pvp. I adore my myth mastery. It was the best decision I made. As to availing hands, you don't need it. you get sacrifice soon enough and can heal yourself with ghoul, vampire, wraith, crow, Frankie. and what aoe are you referring to with balance? their first aoe is nova I believe. and ra after that. neither are what I would consider "low level", well not compared to frog. I would for sure go myth if I was you, but its your call. hope you make a good choice (good being one you don't regret, those amulets are pricey)

      Re: Mastery amulet for death?

I've used a balance mastery and a myth mastery at different times on my death, and I'd have to say I prefer the myth mastery. You gain access to a low level aoe (frogs and earthquake) and a damage bubble that helps in pvp since you don't want to always go casting doom to change bubbles if you're low on health. With balance, you'd have to buy the availing hands treasure cards since you can't train that spell if you aren't balance. The only real reason to use a balance mastery with death school is to use the fast reshuffle technique in pvp which is now outdated with the recent changes they made to the reshuffle. Either way good luck with your choice.

      Re: Mastery amulet for death?

For PvP I would choose a life mastery due to large healing capacity that life has. In PvP, death heals are made less effecive since you now have jaded turtles. It si also nice being able to heal without constantly attacking in PvP so you can build for a big attack.

For mobs, I say myth mastery. It makes the battle go by faster since myth attacks genrally deal much better damage that death attacks. As mentioned above, the low level AOE is a massive help.

I have tried both myth and life mastery. Out of the two, myth is the better of the two for general use.

      Re: Mastery amulet for death?

Everyone has a different playing strategy. I use a life amulet at level 90 when fighting with friends. As a death wizard who love love love love love love loves attacking, I'm always covered in blades and using sacrifice is not going to be an option. I didn't even train satyr until the end of Azteca so a death doesn't really need life spells at all. I got through the entire game without satyr in my deck, but I like having it for if I'm fighting with friends because I can shoot an easy heal and still be able to attack the next round. Comes in handy with some of my friends who aren't very good at taking a hit.

Either balance or myth would be useful, but it depends on what you train.....Balance if you want to use reshuffle a lot......Myth would utilize spirit blades and traps better.

I trained on Myth, as far as I could go. As a lot of posters have pointed out, all the Myth spells work pretty well with Death. But I also trained up to sprite in Life. The double shields both Myth and Life give are useful for avoiding self inflicted damage to your wizard, and help in fending off llife and myth damage.

I used myth on mine for a 4 pip aoe (even with deer, you need to wait another turn) and for earthquake, transmute deadly minotaur which is awesome in pvp, earthquake, shatter, medusa double stun
