Everybody wants to know what their pet hatch is going to cost, so here's where we'll find out.
If you'd like to join me in finding the answer, please post here on this thread!
So what have we found out so far? ****Notice. I've stopped updating this section. If you want to realize what we've found out over the course of this project, please take a look through all of the posts and hard work people have put into this thread!
Contributions to the project that reveal new information will be updated here (with credits obviously). But first we have to find them!
http://www.wizard101central.com/foru...?albumid=33458 - Here's a link to cattalicious' where she takes a first generation unicorn to max stats. Both Phoenix's Princess Champ and Lord Cocoa had 71 pedigree and maxed stats, their hatching cost was 51220.
When Lord Cocoa was swapped with a unicorn (Queen Duncan - 71 pedigree maxed stats) the hatching cost dropped to 47020.
What does this prove (so far)? Stats and pedigree are not the only attributes affected pet hatching cost.
http://www.wizard101central.com/foru...hatching/page4 - Refer to post 39 on this thread, cat also proves that a pet's level does not affect the hatching cost. (Thanks milt for the link!)
Cat provided a link to a thread where she proved that the generation of a pet does not affect its hatching cost:
http://www.wizard101central.com/foru...?albumid=33463 - Here's a link to a 2 picture album I created. All 3 pets in it are max stats.
When hatching Madame Taz (pixie queen - 76(18)) with the life troll the cost was 49280.
When hatching Prince Barney (Pixie queen - 76(13)) with the same life troll the cost was also 49280.
Therefore, manifested talent # does not appear to have any affect on hatching costs.
http://www.wizard101central.com/foru...?albumid=33495 - This album shows that the individual pedigree point cost of pixie queens and ianthine hounds seems to be 270 gold. Refer to post 17 on this thread for further explanation.
Refer to post 6 on this thread.
Looking at the pets, I originally thought that the stats were what was making the unusual hatching cost, but when adding up the differences the sandman only has a total of 1 more stat than the nightwalker, meaning that could not possibly be the influance of a much higher hatching cost when it has lower pedigree.
I'm beginning to think of two options from this information.
1- If a pet has a card at baby this might influeance cost
2- Different "types" of pets have different costs (either their pedigree or just a base cost). Eg. the sandman would have a higher "cost".
Milt's GENIUS album- http://www.wizard101central.com/foru...?albumid=33214
Refer to post 11 on this thread, his album proves that each pet has an individual hatching cost, that is a constant and will be the same for every hatch. The 2 pets hatching costs are then added together to get the final hatching cost!
Refer to post 15 on this thread. The combinations of first gen scarecrow, phoenix and kracken seem to show that each stat category is weighted at the same value (with the possible exception of power).
What we know it is affected by:
If you have any ideas or information on what you think might affect pet hatching costs, please tell us!
How you can contribute:
We are looking for exact testing, with picture evidence.
Pets with the same stats (For example max stats pets) are extremely helpful to use, as then we can discover hatching cost changes with just pedigree.
Provide evidence to show if hatching costs change with the pets/types of talents learned.
These are just some examples of how to help.
I will constantly be checking back and updating new findings, so good luck central!
