      A Rant

      I know what you were probably thinking when you read the title, but this is not one of those useless rants on KingsIsle that gets nobody nowhere. This isn't even a rant on KI. This is really a rant on their customers and the feedback they've been getting.


      To start this rant(which will be somewhat organized), I would like to address the main problem. Pretty much everything that they do gets negative feedback. Not from all fans but from a pretty large part of the community. They will listen to the fans, then do what the fans say, then the fans get mad at KingsIsle because of some aspect of the change. To me this would just be annoying, and to put it into something more relatable, I'll give you a similar scenario that you would find annoying.


      Your boss/teacher (whoever you have) gives you a huge assignment. You must create a 10 page essay/report on this and it must be perfect to whoever you are turning it into. You start working on it as soon as you can and work hard to make it the best it possibly can be. Once the rough draft is completed it is submitted to the boss/teacher, who reviews it and gives you feedback. They tell you that they want more info, more description, and make a few grammar edits. Of course, you are eager to please the boss/teacher and you work on the paper as much as you can over the next few days. Finally, when you feel that it will be pleasing, you decide it is ready to be submitted again with all of the edits. Once it is turned in, you find out that there are more edits to be made. These edits include less info, less description, and a shorter report. You are very mad at this, but continue on with the paper, wanting to please the boss/teacher.


      In that story, you are in the place of KingsIsle, and the boss/teacher is in the place of the customers. KingsIsle has to do whatever it takes to please the customers in order to stay in business, because they make money from the customers. The customers want KingsIsle to improve the game in any way possible. But right now a majority of customers have been impossible to work with. Here are some more recent examples of how everything KingsIsle does gets a lot of negative feedback.


      Customers were demanding a new world even after the 2 new worlds that had been recently added. KingsIsle wanted to please the customers, so they decided to create Azteca. Dinosaurs, pretty awesome idea right, well a lot of people complained about tons of glitches happening, but that is what happens when you rush a world out. We made them feel as if they had to come out with a new world very soon.


      KingsIsle decides to do something to compensate huge glitches in Azteca. They fix all glitches then decide to give everyone that had trouble with the glitches a free 30,000 crowns. This is a very generous thing, because many people lost membership days due to these glitches that wouldn't let them into certain areas. Not only this but they also fixed the glitches that people were experiencing. Once again they did what the customers demanded, but nobody cared that they fixed the glitches, the only thing that mattered to them was that they wanted crowns also even though they never had any glitches at all. Once again, this is not all customers, only a large fraction of them.


      We need to think more before we post rants about KingsIsle, they are trying very hard to keep the game running and they are always trying to keep us happy as well. It can't be easy to keep such a large company running for so long, and it doesn't help if many fans don't even support half of your decisions.

      Wow, they use crowns aka money to sway the public
      That is nice but once again selfish and ignorant.
      Instead of swaying the public in anything, they should fix the game already!
      What will this solve anything? AZ is still glitched.

      I totally agree with you, 1233465. KI works so hard to please all the customers, they're super generous and give away crowns, and what happens? People complain. I don't get it x. x
      Personally, I think KI is being super nice even though all they get is negativity and rants in return. And despite that, they continue to be nice. KI staff, you guys rock!!!

      First of all thank you for thinking this out and taking your time, i know people never think most of the time before they post but its mostly cause....KI's players Are kids mostly, they dont always think things all the way kids dont think about how long it takes and what they have to do all they know is They wave a magic wands and Poof new world and More you dont have some good and bad points but They're is always a good and a bad side to things.....

      a person who got ii would obviously say this. At least some.
      See, I do not care about the crowns, they make the game more bad imo.
      But this is genius if you really think about it.
      They give you 30,000 crowns right. and what will you do? You'll spend it
      you have to spend money to make money honey.
      That is not selfish (:. I don't care about virtual money.
      what better way to get people back in the game, to get people to actually buy more and more.
      This is actually a very smart thing that KI did.
      Very, very nice KI. I'll give you that.
      Waste and money people. Please, it is only paper right not backed by gold anymore

      I've just resigned myself to the fact that people are never going to be happy with KI no matter what they do.

      How many times have they been very generous with compensation? Let's count.

      1. Knight's Lore Pack glitch- Everyone who got a spell from the Knight's Lore pack ended up with Deer Knight as compensation for the glitch.

      2. Skyvern's Hoard- Anyone who only got a Pretzel from the Birthday Snack Pack got several Skyvern's Hoards as an apology from KI.

      3. Locked out of Azteca glitch- Many people who experienced this glitch long term were given 30,000 Crowns.

      Anyone who thinks this isn't generosity on KI's part needs to get over it and stop being so sore all the time.

      That is insulting :I Some kids don't demand new Worlds, some kids don't finish the World and demand more Worlds, some kids take their time in finishing Worlds. Some kids think about how long it takes. Some kids think about all Kingsisle has to do to make a new World. Some kids DO think. Some kids know how to play the Game, and to some kids its not just waving Magic Wands and new Worlds. And yes, I'm a kid.


      Sorry, but it drives me crazy when everybody says kids. Teenagers and adults demand new Worlds as well as kids.

      You know at first I just thought oh free crowns how nice of KI because of the glitch, I still thought it was glitched till I had my friend ask me for help with Belloq in Twin Giants and noticed everything was fine. KI didn't have to give us those crowns and we should not be mad because you didn't experience this problem and didn't get free crowns just be glad that the glitch is gone. Btw Thank you KI once again you guys are great!
