Wizard101 Feels Different

Well my cousin introduced me to this game like 4 months before celestia came out. I fell in love with the game it was just amazing at the time i was eleven years old back then. I didnt get a membership right away I just fought the Kraken endlessly amazingly i got to level 20 on my death wiz by just fighting the Kraken, (thats how much i loved the game.) Then I got subscription and played until i beat Celestia and got all my waterworks gear. Made a fire wizard and started doing pvp with friends. I took a little break then came back. Zafaria came out and I had to get to level 70. I had fun and all. Then all of a sudden i quit again. Recently like three days ago I logged on again I was thinking of buying subscription again but Im not sure. I still have some love for this game but everything just seems like work and a waste of money really cause I dont have that much money... I dont know what to do. Can someone please give me some advice? Any help would be appreaciated. Thanks!

I haven't bought membership in a while either. W101's worlds got repetitive and boring for me. IMO, the worlds got bland after Zafaria.

Wizards will always feel different, especially after a break. Whether it's for a year (like myself) or a couple weeks. Sometimes it's a good different and sometimes you aren't happy with the outcome of how it's turned out. Seeing as you seem to have been strongly into the game because of the content, my suggestion for you would to go through the forums. Read up on the new additions, make your opinions from there. With all the threads and posts with feedback on the new additions, it should be pretty easy to figure out if it's worth it.. It might be worth it to another Central member or myself, but it all comes down to Y-O-U.

I agree with you. I was completely out of the game until I went to my cousins' house for Christmas. They play frequently, and asked me to play, so I dusted off Wizard101's icon and played it once again. I'm probably going to get back out of it in a few days or so.

The game is amazingly fun when you play it through once. I'm in Avalon because I haven't been able to afford Crowns until just recently, but I don't know if I want to buy any Crowns.

Why?

Because the game feels repetitive to me. Collect this, kill that, run to China, collect four thousand magic staffs, kill twenty-five thousand street mobs... It just gets kind of boring and it seems like it takes forever.

Even when I start new characters, it's kinda like, "I did this a year ago. And 6 months ago. And 3 months ago."

I ended up quitting Wizard101 for that reason, and that's the reason I don't want to buy Crowns. I feel that the same thing will happen - I'll quit the game because, after Azteca, there's really only one thing to do. Start a new character and do the same, boring stuff that I did long ago.

Pet training is mundane for me too, since... you know... it takes forever. And without a membership, PvP isn't all that fun because you get paired up with level fives all the time or you end up having to wait fifteen minutes for a match.


Kind of went on a rant there. tl;dr version: I agree with you, the game gets repetitive.

In my opinion the game got worse when avalon and azteca were released.

I don't pay for the game. Questing has gotten to the point where it feels more like work than fun.

The only reason I'm still here is because of PvP
