Wow! Does Cipactli like to Dance! Cipactli is a cheat boss in Tierra de Brea in Azteca, located near the venemous quetzals and the entrance to Pitch Black Lake.
Cipactli is a rank 13 death boss (21,500 health) with a New Moon Priestess myth minion (5400 health). With three or more wizards, you will have 3 New Moon Priestess minions.
How Cipactli Cheats
Ward Dance/Charm Dance: Every third round, Cipactli interrupts at the start to place a 30% hex on a random player, and then puts a mark on each player, alternating between Ward and Charm. He starts with Ward.
Can you follow the steps of my Dance? : After each mark, you must cast a ward/charm the very next round. Every time you folow his dance and remove the mark, all shields or trap currently on you will also be removed. Charms are not removed.
Those who cannot keep up must perish!: If you do not follow his instructions on the next round, Cipactli will cast a no-pip Dr. Von's Monster on each person who did not follow instructions. For example, if you cast a sheild on someone else for the Ward Dance and that person does not, Dr. Von will hit that player, but not you. An earthquake from the myth minion will clear the Ward Dance/Charm Dance marks and you will not be attacked by Dr. Von. After he casts his Dr Von's monster cheat, he shatters and restarts the Dance.
Hidden cheat: Any person who casts a ward will immediately be cleansed of all wards that are currently on them. This means that there is no point in shielding yourself - they will be wiped off right away. If you shield someone else, the shield will stay on them, but any shields or traps currently on the person who cast the shield will be wiped off. If you cast a feint, the trap that is placed on you is shattered off immediately. Note that the new sun school auras are also perceived as wards (AND charms!), so if you cast on prepared to have any shields/traps on you cleansed off.
What to Expect Each Round
Round 1-2: Normal
Round 3: Cipactly interrupts to cast a 30% hex on a random player and cast a Ward dance mark.
Round 4: If you are marked (ie, if you did not already cast a ward in round 3), you need to cast a Ward this round. Can you follow the steps of my dance?
Round 5: If you did not cast a Ward in round 4, you are attacked by a no-pip Dr. Von's monster (Those who cannot keep up must perish!) All wards are then shattered.
Round 6: Charm Dance mark.
Round 7: If you are marked, you need to cast a Charm this round.
Round 8: If you did not cast a charm, you will be hit with Dr. Von. and shatter.
Round 9: Ward Dance mark, and the cycle starts again.
Recommendations if Fighting with 1-2 Wizards
Follow his instructions. Put in a couple traps and blades to follow his instructions. Traps are more useful than shields to use during the 'ward' rounds, because shields will be shattered off anyway when your stun shield is removed. Traps, on the other hand, will remain on the boss and help you kill faster. Those Dr. Vons do start to sting. Prisms also count as wards. During the 'charm' wards, you can also use a weakness, dispel, or other debuff on his as a charm. Note: This is especially easy if you have already gotten your new star school spells.
Feint, feint, feint! Since one of his cheats shatters the trap placed on you as a cheat as well as any shields or marks, stacking feints are ideal for this boss. Free 70% trap! Sold!
Buff up for that one hit kill. You can build up for a regular one hit kill, just like any other boss. Watch out for the pips on the myth minion: he can earthquake, but he does like critical basilisks, medusa, frogs, and minotaurs, too. For this reason, it is wise to follow the order Cipactli sets forward (though unintentionally) - wards/traps first, blades/charms later.
Recommendations if Fighting with 3-4 Wizards
Dispel his cheat entirely. With more wizards, your team won't be quite as stretched for pips, and it is simpler to just dispel his cheat completely. One melt (ice dispel) placed on Cipactli in the first two rounds will stop his from placing the mark, and cut of his whole string of cheats for the next several rounds. You can even put up two or three melts in the first few rounds, which will cut off his cheats for the first ten rounds or more.
Proceed as you would a normal boss fight. Since you're dealing with myth minions, we highly recommend putting traps on the boss first, and blading a hammer just before they hit to avoid dealing with earthquakes potential quaking off your blades.
