Guide for 69 plot Couch Potato garden

Was posted 10/16/2012 under the title - 69 Couch Potato Heaven Lane. However, it was lost when Wizard101central went down and they had to restore to the previous day. Also I did not make a copy so I have to write it over again. Therefore the new title. I hope that I got it posted to the right spot this time.

It took a long time to perfect and was very frustrating and even painful at times. It is 7 plots high and there are no plots on the ground. The aim point is 2 crates high in the center and was placed there by a "long blue runner". A Sylvia Drake bobble head was used and the base is the aim point. The garden is comprised of 12 stacks of plots for a total of 84 plots. The extra plots are in case KI raises the limit on the number of plants that can be reached by an AOE spell. Three plots were removed so that the aim point is visible. The odd numbered plots in each stack are offset by half a crate in both the X and Y directions to allow all seven plots to be planted. Crates and the low square table (MS housing item) were the only tools needed to build the stacks. The stacks are staggered a bit to get them as tight as possible and a row of stacks is at a slight diagonal. Two rows in one direction and two rows in another direction with the 4 center stacks shared form a 'big plus sign'.

The procedure that I used to build the garden is as follows.

      1. Building the first row from left to right place a guide crate to the right of where the first stack goes.
      2. Place the table loaded with a 27 crate cube (starting in upper left corner) on the left of the guide crate.
**a. nearest edge of table and crate should be close to even with feet of table the closest.
      3. Place soil on top of crates.
      4. Move table away and place one stack of 3 crates 1 half crate to left of guide crate and 4 half crates up.
      5. Fill in the rest of the 3 crate stacks to left and down from the first stack of 3 crates.
      6. Place soil on top of crates. (make sure that the offset between plots is half a crate in both directions)
      7. Repeat steps 2. Through 6. with 18 crates then 9 crates.
      8. The empty table is last and aligns different so be careful how you place it. Place soil.
      9. Place another guide crate 4 half crates to the right and 3 half crates up. remove old guide crate.
      10. Build next stack. The edges of the plots are close and offset. Not fully edge to edge or point to point.
      11. You have to start the next row by sight and place the guide crate next to the table when it is right.
      12. Then place the two stacks of the other two rows closest to you in similar fashion.
      13. The back two stacks are done slightly different. Single stack of crates is moved 3 left and 6 up.

I have no post history so I can not post pictures. However, I will give the name of the album as soon as it is remade. It was also lost.

Expect some pain. It is not easy to do.

      Best of luck!

      EDIT:

Name of album: 69 Couch Potato Heaven

They will not let me add comments because I do not have enough post.

      1. a picture of table alignment
      2. a picture of crate alignment
      3. a picture of whole garden alignment (just a mock up on the ground)
      4. several pictures of one stack
      5. a picture of plants with needs (note 128 energy)
      6. a picture of plants with needs taken care of (note 93 energy, 128 - 93 = 35 energy used)
      7. a picture of me and my son in our dungeon (grain of salt--lol)

I say again that I can not post pictures because I do not have enough post and they won't let me.
Maybe someone can post the pictures for me if they can be gotten from my album! Thanks

The first elder harvest is complete. Never missed any plants with the AOE spells, not a one! The only problem that I seem to have is I can't seem to spend the gold fast enough. My gold got pegged out at 300,000 before the elder harvest was complete. From almost no gold to too much gold in a few days without having to farm. Unbearable, lol! Now I just need my ship from pirates101 to haul away all the booty.

Wow! Very nice. That must've taken a really long time. I might try this out but it looks like a lot of work for large plots x_x

Re: Guide for 69 plot Couch Potato garden

When I have enough post so that I qualify to include pictures I will build a new guide and a new garden and if I can do half as good a job that Amber did then I will be happy.

Wow, that some show of patience and persistence. Impressive. Studied your album. Clearly understand why you need that rug. Whenerver you get your number of posts up high enough, adding picture to your "recipe" will be helpful.

It must be a tricky job finding all those that are ready to harvest (I have 33 stacked plot DNF garden and I have to around that garden several times just to make sure).

Re: Guide for 69 plot Couch Potato garden

This is a different build than I explain above. It is much easier!

Pick a place and start. Place the first soil. Look for a larger area than I did as it will be easier.

Now place the guide crate. It makes building the stack easy.

Here is the crate only alignment. Place second soil.

      Third.

      Fourth.

Fifth and sixth are not shown. They are just like the previous but with only one layer of crates.

Next is the table all by itself. It needs to be moved half a crate because of how the soil aligns.

Do not put a soil on the ground. Move guide crate as shown and build second stack.

Finish second stack just like first.

Then add top soils to next row as alignment can be done by sight. Refer to finished garden to understand alignment. Start with the center stacks. Do the left most stack last and place the guide crate.

Two views of the finished garden follow. You will need to create an aim point that is just above two crates high and remove a few soil plots so you can see it. I will show the aim point and a planted garden last.

Sylvia's base is the aim point. It is not actually visible but it is still aim-able. I should not have planted that one soil. There were other unplanted soils that could have been planted instead.

This is very cool, thank you for taking the time to make your guide a second time. If I ever manage to obtain 69 couch potato seeds I'll have to try this!

Easiest way to store gold (due to bank/backpack and TC limits) is to buy and store low level treatsor reagents (both have maximums at 999 for each type). Reagents and treats can be easily transferred to your other characters through the shared bank, and help to keep those Zeke notices down.
      May your wand never fizzle.

If you are referring to the last picture--there are 69 (max number reachable) Couch Potato's.
