I managed to sneak on Central for a few moments, and what do I find?
Three leaving threads.
In one day.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not angry at those who did express their concerns about leaving. It's their struggle and they'll all hopefully work something out. We all wish them the best in their decision. Good luck, guys.
I want to express the concerns about the REASONS behind leaving.
Real life. The section being boring. The community.
The first one, real life, we can't do much about. I agree that life is above Central in terms of priority. If they're too busy- than they're too busy. Hopefully summer will come around and that can change.
The last two, we CAN do something about. Everyone has been saying, 'oh, RPGs are so unoriginal these days' or 'it's just about people having superpowers'.
Don't just say they're unoriginal- CHANGE IT. Try to think up of some new ideas, something no one has ever done before. Say, I don't think I've ever seen an RPG about people going to the moon. Ideas are all around you- observe the world around you, think about it, and voila, you've got an RPG. Will anyone like it? Well, just post it and hope for the best. Advertise if it need be.
Just, anything but sitting around saying that the section needs to change but not doing much about it.
And finally, there's the community.
I love the community. That's one of the main reasons I log onto Central every single day- it's very lively, energetic. And I love it. But there are some problems- and those problems are becoming bigger and bigger and bigger until finally, they wind up hurting someone's feelings. And, even I myself have a problem with this, don't judge the RPG by it's maker. Who knows? Maybe it'll turn out to be something you really like.
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
