All Easter Eggs in Wizard101!

Was just questing through Azteca and I noticed a quest by the name of "Journey to the Cenote of the Earth." This of course is a reference to the movie Journey to the Center of Earth directed by Eric Brevig. Hoping this makes it on the list for Easter eggs in Azetca, as it is rather short. This may have already been mentioned didn't look around though, thanks.

@Icy Lionheart, your reference to "Mak the Knife" in Azteca I think is actually a reference to a song that was originally composed in 1928 for a musical drama in Berlin.

"Mack the Knife" or "The Ballad of Mack the Knife", originally "Die Moritat von Mackie Messer" , is a song composed by Kurt Weill with lyrics by Bertolt Brecht for their music Drama Die Dreigroschenoper, or as it is known in English, The Threepenny Opera. It premiered in Berlin in 1928 at the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm. The song became a popular standard recorded by many artists including a US and UK number one hit for Bobby Darin in 1959.

It has been translated to French and English and first introduced in America in 1933. In 1956 Louis Armstrong did a version of the song and later in 1959, It was recorded by Bobby Darin which made the number one hit on Billboard Hot 100.

So I think your reference to a Mario RPG on this one may be a bit off the mark.

The Polarian Shipwreck house is based off of the HMS Resolute which was a British Royal Navy ship meant for Arctic exploration. However, it became trapped in ice and abandoned.

The new Yuletide mount, the Polaris Express, is based off of the Polar Express.

Empress Antuskette in Polaris is based off of Queen Marie Antoinette of France.

The Rusalka's Wrath spell is based off of the Russian legend of Rusalka.

The Arch in the middle of Walruskberg in Polaris is based off of the Arc de Triomphe.

I could be wrong but I believe that Empress Antuskette is named after Grand Duchess Anna Pavlovna (it was a nickname for Anna)


I have to say that I think almost all of W101 is an easter egg :P

This is a super cool post. One I remember seeing recently is "It's the end of the world as we know it". It's a song but also its the name of one of the final quests of azteca.

I haven't added to this thread in a few years, even though I've found many hundreds of Easter Eggs all over the place. I'm pretty surprised that the list for Azteca is short, this is one of my favorite worlds for references. Totally loved the two Easter Eggs for Fruit Loops cereal and was really happy that my favorite comedy show, 'Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me' got a quest name there.
