Does what you feed your pet matter?

Do the type of snacks you feed your pet affect what talents they get? Is it worth training a pet slowly with certain snacks to get talents you want when you have mega snacks on hand that would help them mature faster?

No the types of snacks you feed your pet doesn't affect the talents.

Re: Does what you feed your pet matter?

The reason I ask is that somewhere along the line someone told me to get spritely you should train your pet in Will. I have done that and had much better luck with getting it on my pets. Thus feeding them things that also boosted their will before anything else.

Now it could just be coincidence that it helped, I have no idea!

      No that is not possible.

But if you do get a certain talent you like, you can go to the pet wiki and improve that talent by training it with certain snacks.

ok that doesn't make sense. If what you feed it doesn't matter, then how does that improve it? Or do you mean if it is going to get the talent, it will, that will just change how good the talent is when it gets it?

Ok I may have confused myself there, lol!

OK for example, I train my pet with random snacks and it gets Spell Proof[2% resistance]

Now I go to Pet wiki and learn about Spell Proof and I figure that, If i train my pet with Medium Preztel, the resistance will increase as the experience bar for Strength, Agility, and Power gets higher.

All I am trying to say is, you can't actually get the talents you want, its all random. But the talents you get randomly can be improved.

Re: Does what you feed your pet matter?

Ok, I get that. And perhaps it is coincidence on the will thing, but it really has greatly increased the chanced of my pets getting it. Could be I just have better pets to start with now, I don't know.

      Anyway, thanks for explaining!

The stats you increase doesn't influence the talents you get. Maybe you were just lucky or it was a coincidence? They do however affect the number stats on things like spell-proof and pain-giver.
