Exterminated - A guide to the Warehouse / Spiral Geographic.

As always, this guide is updated regularly. If you see any changes that need to be made, or any information I've missed, feel free to post or PM me.

The Warehouse is a cheat tower that was originally introduced prior to Celesita, as a way to gain access to the new world. It was eventually deemed too difficult to be required and is now a side quest. In order to access the warehouse, you must
      - have defeated Malistaire
      - complete the pre-quest line, Swimming with the Stars, which you can get from Halston Balestrom.
There is no longer any minimum level requirement.

Treasure cards to stock up on before you enter the warehouse:
      -pierce
-treasure blades. School-specific ones can occasionally be found in the bazaar, but if those aren't possible at least pick up some treasure spirit or elemental blades from the library.

The Warehouse is located in Regent's Square, near the Royal Museum. You can not port into this dungeon, nor can you port within it. Should you die in this dungeon, if you make it back into the dungeon before the other members of your group die, the dungeon will not reset, but you may need to redo the final fight if the remainder of your party dies before you reach the final floor.

      Warehouse location:

When you first enter the tower, Daren WhisperWind will warn you:

Not to disagree with an NPC , but there is no need to fear doing this dungeon with less than four people - as long as everyone involved knows what they're doing.

If you have a full group, for all the mob fights I would recommend putting up a blade on the first turn and attack with a four pip AoE on the second turn (with gargantuan if you have it). Life can guiding light on the first turn/unicorn on the second turn, and Death can empower on the first turn and scarecrow in the second (if your pips like you).

      Your first mob fight.

      Second mob fight

Third floor - puzzle time! The book tells you a short story, which lays out for you the order in which you should remove the boxes, which is pictured here. Should you not remove the boxes in the proper order, you will end up with another mob fight (not pictured, but pictures welcome if anyone has one). If you successfully complete the puzzle you will get a floor full of wisps.

The fourth floor is your fight with
      General Stormclaw, your mini-boss.

The fight will start with the general on his own, but be warned - after this first turn he will summon his minions. There are a few notes to make about the first turn here.
-Do not blade on the first turn. General Stormclaw will interrupt to earthquake before your next turn, which will remove your blades.
-ONLY ON THE FIRST TURN will you be able to stick a trap on general stormclaw (the usual exceptions of pet feints, windstorm, etc apply here as well). However, please note in the later notes on general cheats that part of this boss' cheats will have him remove any traps on himself (INCLUDING pet feints, windstorm, and any traps placed on the first turn) whenever you blade, and every time it is his turn. Your blades are the basis of your power in this fight, so it's best to not try to keep that trap up anyway. If you do want to put a trap on him, you must do it the same turn you attack, and no one can put a blade up after this trap is placed.
-General Stormclaw will immediately put a 65% tower shield on the first turn. This shield can be pierced/shattered off without triggering any cheats, but it's best not to do so until you are ready to hit or he may replace it later.

Following the first turn, General Stormclaw will summon his minions (one life, one ice, one storm).

These minions each cheat as well. Should you attempt to his the wrong enemy, you will get this message and incur cheats from the other minions.

If you hit the life minion: no consequence.
If you hit the ice minion: the life minion will rebirth, bringing back the ice minion even if you killed him.
If you hit the storm minion: The ice minion will hit a member of your party with colossus and the life wizard will rebirth.
If you hit General Stormclaw: his 65% tower shield will be replaced, your team will be hit with storm lord, the ice minion will hit a member of your party with colossus, and the life minion will rebirth.

Whenever you hit General Stormclaw, he will shout

This will trigger the minions' cheats, unless all of the minions are killed in the same attack. Once the minions have been killed, he will still shout when you hit him, but the minions will not come back.

      General cheats
      in this fight:
-Whenever you blade, any traps that you have managed to put in the enemy (traps from first turn, pet traps, windstorm, etc) will be removed.
-When you blade, General Stormclaw will remove a weakness from you if one exists.
-You can use spirit or elemental traps, and the first TWO of the three sections will be instantly removed. The last section would be removed if anyone blades following the placement of the trap.
-Once the minions are dead, you will be hit with a frost giant (consider it a gift from the grave), unless you have also killed the boss.

There are two methods you can use to win this fight.
#1, not recommended: Take out the minions one by one, and focus on the boss after the minions are dead. Should you choose to go this method, you MUST take the enemies out in the following order: first, life. Second, ice. Third, storm. Last, boss. This order is the only way to avoid most of the cheats, though you will still be hit with a frost giant when the last of the minions dies.
#2, recommended: The one hit kill. Blade up one player to take out all of the minions (and possibly the boss) in one hit. Watch out for the bosses' pips, and if he seems to be saving up pips for an earthquake, make sure you hit before he is able to remove your blades. He doesn't often earthquake after this first turn, but it has happened occasionally. Downside: because trapping and therefore using prisms is next to impossible, there's a good chance you'll need to overcome some major resist (about 40-50%) on at least one of the enemies. Make sure you use enough blades to do so. This is where your treasure come in handy. Put your hammer towards the end of your lineup, and on the same turn they hit, have someone cast pierce to remove the boss' tower shield. Even if the hit doesn't kill, it will take a big dent out of him. Even if the boss doesn't die, once the minions are gone (and the stun from the frost giant you'd get hit with is past), you can whittle away at the boss freely.

Following your victory over General Stormclaw, you move up to the fifth floor and some new mobs who seem to be expecting you...

      Sixth floor mobs:

The seventh floor brings you to your second puzzle, which is the only time that having less than four people in the instance will cause you problems. This puzzle book tells you to:

This means you needs to light up the tiles that have pictures of suns on them, but be very careful NOT to step on any of the snake tiles. There are three sun tiles and one lever to be pulled. In a full party, one person will stand on each sun tile and one person will pull the lever. This puzzle cannot be completed with less than four people.

The path to each of the sun tiles and the lever is shown below.

Should the fourth person pull the lever and nothing happens, have each person check to make sure the sun tile they are standing on is lit up - sometimes after a short time the 'light' on the tile will go out, and you will need to step off the tile and back on.

If you successfully complete this puzzle, you will get a floor full of wisps. If you do not, you will get this fight.

After completing this floor, you move up to the eighth floor and your final mob fight.

Finally, you move on up to the ninth floor and your
      final boss against Estrakir GloomThorn.

Health is as follows (please note that there are two rat illustionists, one had already died when I took this picture).

General cheats for the final fight:
-when any member of your team heals, no matter how small (aside from pet heals), Knuckles will also heal your opponents with rebirth (no absorb).
      - on the first turn, each of the rat magicians will place a 90% tower shield on 'their' boss. As long as those rats are alive, they will replace the tower shield on 'their' boss (one is responsible for keeping a tower on Estrakir, the other keeps a tower on Knuckles) on heir first turn after the boss is hit, unless they are killed in the same round the boss is hit.
-as a general rule, you cannot place traps or prisms - they will be instantly removed. Windstorm and pet feints will stick on the boss, but there is a chance the boss will shield, and every time the boss shields any traps on him will be removed.
-if you hit Knuckles with a single target spell, he will attack your team with a fire dragon, and 'his' rat will replace his tower shield (assuming his rat is alive).
-if you hit Estrakir with a single target spell and Knuckles is alive, Knuckles will heal Estrakir with helping hands and Estrakir's rats will replace his tower (assuming his rat is alive).
-Estrakir will frequently cheat by casting a strong power nova for no pips. This cheat is nullified as soon as someone puts up a bubble (global field) around your fight. Please note that as bosses do not recognize pet spells, bubbles cast by your pet will NOT stop his nova.
-If all of the other enemies are dead and Estrakir alone remains, he will hit your entire with a strong scarecrow (base attack 800) every other round.

There are two strategies for this fight. For BOTH strategies, please keep bubbles/fields in your deck and play them as soon as possible (Darkwind, Wyldfire, Balefrost, Time of Legend, etc). It may also be wise to keep a bubble in your sideboard so that you can find it more readily. You want to put on up in either the first or second turn, as the first nova will otherwise hit you at the start of turn 3.

      Strategy #1, not recommended:
Take out the enemies one by one. If you do this strategy, you will need to first take out the rat magicians, then Knuckles, then Estrakir. This strategy is possible but presents numerous complications, the most problematic of which are Estrakir's scarecrow when he alone remains, and Knuckles' fire dragon if you do not kill him in one hit.

Strategy #2, highly recommended: Kill all enemies in one turn with a series of highly bladed group attacks.
Have every member of your team put up as many blades as possible and prepare for the largest AoE they can muster. Your life wizard can heal freely while you are doing this - Knuckles will heal your enemies when you do so, but as you enemies are at full health it doesn't matter. When it comes time to hit, the first group attack will remove the towers on the bosses, which will not be replaced as group attacks do not trigger their cheats. The following attacks in succession, all on the same turn, should be enough to kill both of the remaining bosses.

Finally, enjoy your wayfinder gear! General Stormclaw will drop your boots, and Estrakir often drops the boots and hat.

Huge thanks to TJS for coming on this run with me and helping me confirm the cheats, and to John Shadow and Aura* for taking me through this time after time when I didn't yet have a clue. I hope this helps some of you squish your first bug!

As always, if you'd like some help with the dungeon, just post a request over at the Mercenaries for Hire Difficult Instance thread and we'd be glad to give you a hand!

Re: Exterminated - A Warehouse / Spiral Geographic guide.

This is a wonderful guide. Ever since Jonah's disappeared, I've been looking for a good guide and you were the one to make it.
Third floor - puzzle time! The book tells you a short story, which lays out for you the order in which you should remove the boxes, which is pictured here.
It would be nice if you wrote what happens if you DON'T do the puzzle correctly.

The fight will start with the general on his own, but be warned - after this first turn he will summon his minions. There are a few notes to make about the first turn here.
-Do not blade on the first turn. General Stormclaw will follow this turn up with an earth which will remove your blades.
-ONLY ON THE FIRST TURN will you be able to stick a trap on general stormclaw (the usual exceptions of pet feints, windstorm, etc apply here as well). However, please note that part of this boss' cheats will have him remove any traps on himself (INCLUDING pet feints, windstorm, and any traps placed on the first turn) whenever you blade. Your blades are the basis of your power in this fight, so it's best to not try to keep that trap up anyway.
-General Stormclaw will immediately put a 65% tower shield on the first turn. This shield can be pierced/shattered off without triggering any cheats, but it's best not to do so until you are ready to hit or he may replace it later.
If you attack him while his minions are around, the minions will attack you with Storm Lord and Scarecrow (?) and heal with Rebirth. Also, he removed my Weakness once for some reason when I was trying to solo it.

Yes, in addition to removing traps on himself when you blade, he will also remove a weakness on you when you blade. The minions hit with colossus, rebirth, and storm lord respectively. I'll address all that when I get back and finish off the guide.

      WTG Katherine :D!

Edit: By the way, you spelled Daren "Darren" in your introduction.
