When Celestia was first released and the new astral spells were introduced, the attack boosts like gargantuan could not be used with the half back as health death attacks like wraith and scarecrow.
So we could only use the boosts with our pirate, etc
Then the rules were changed, now we can use the boosts with the spells we use most!

Re: Illustrated Guide to Training Points and Deck Setup

I personally find your deck setups far too big, I would be wading through spells I never use trying to pull out the ones I need.
Focus on what you really use - blades, attack, a feint for the boss?
We have to attack each npc as we dont get our AOE till lvl58 which makes for slow battles just like other spirit schools, but we heal up after each attack we excel at solo play.

You need blades (school, tc/hat, spirit) and a few garg and attack cards, crow is best once you have it, once you reach CL add shields as we have to wait for pips to crow anyway.
Poison and dragon are used for getting rid of those annoying shields that npc's in CL, ZF and WT use so often.

This is mainly for solo street play as in teams we maybe better in a supporting role adding buffs(feints) or even healing with sacrifice if its needed, as the elemental schools often attack before we have pips to crow, before that we dont even have an AOE, which can make our attacks seem weak.
You can always add a reshuffle to your treasure cards if you worry about not having enough spells.

If you havent tried a small deck why not try one out, you maybe surprised how effective it is.

Re: Illustrated Guide to Training Points and Deck Setup

I don't think Minotaur is a great spell to work up to for Death, since we put quite a lot of traps and blades, and the spell will ruin several rounds worth of intended damage. Of course, Myth is a great and effective school, but not the best for a Death. I did Tower Shield though, Spirit Blade and Trap to buff myself up some more ( very helpful ), and Life up to Satyr. Not many people would do Life up to Satyr, but the other stuff is compatible for both PvP and PvE. Just my opinion though.
      Happy wizarding!

Re: Illustrated Guide to Training Points and Deck Setup

Nice guide. There are 3 ways a death can use points though:-

      1) Your way, train Myth, and train up to minotaur or even earthquake. (use Myth mastery, earth would come in handy for pvp)
      2) Train life up to satyr. (use Life mastery, and TC rebirths to be a healing death)
      3) My way, train balance up to weakness and get the balance dispel. (use Balance mastery, 1 power pip dispels
and 2 power pip reshuffles) Also using this strategy means you can use a much smaller deck to blast you through PvE at rapid
      pace.

I guess that part is up to the individual and their style of playing. Excellent guide though. Great to read thanks.

Hey right on bro! This is awesome. Just reaching Magus Necromance status, i'm not quite there yet but it helps to look forward at my options. Perhaps a SP reset is in order 'cuz i went the way of the storm.

i like your idea bout getting the dispel balance, the reason is you can dispel the weakness that might be cast, also i was thinking what bout also getting a dispel ice for the tower shield...
