I must be dense, but I have trouble figuring out what is the best clothing to put on for max health/mana. The numbers seem confusing. I am a level 21, and the only way I can figure out if something is better than what I already have on (hat, cloak, ring, etc.) is to put it on and look at my health & mana. Plus, I keep seeing cloaks and other things flashing up along with my increases in health after completing certain tasks, but I don't see these items appearing in my inventory. Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated. Darin

Click your backpack icon, then a type of gear (robe, hat, etc.), and see a list of all those items in your backpack. Hover your mouse over an item in the list; it should show stats for that item and the one you are currently wearing (marked with a closed hand) for comparison. Is that part working ok?

See lots of gear in your backpack but don't see the most recent drops? Your backpack may be full and your additional items going to bank in your dorm room instead.

Another way to compare current gear to what's in backpack: go into a shop and choose Sell tab. This will show the gear in your backpack by type (robe, hat, etc.); again, hovering over an item will show stats for that item and the one you have on. Advantages over backpack screen: 1) unload things you're never going to use and get some gold for them, and 2) you can see how the clothing looks without actually putting it on.

In deciding what combination is best, I often resort to notepad and calculator. "This robe has great health but low mana, do I have a knife or ring to compensate? How much damage would I take before 3% defense is more than the heal in this extra Sprite card? What percent of my damage has to be primary school to make 8% school boost better than 3% overall boost? Etc." As a math geek I enjoy this kind of puzzle; others may run screaming from the prospect. :scared:

All the stuff was going to my room's overflow storage. I feel like such a moron. I went from a 1100 health to nearly 1350, and doubled my mana as well. Thanks for the help! :wheelchair:

I have a question regarding clothes. I see that a lot of the school specific items have +number death damage and +number death shield.

It would seem logical that I would want to have equipment that is not school specific on shields as I get hit with things other than Death.

Can anyone clear this up for me or am I looking at it the wrong way.

Thanks!

Ok I understand that they made your hps go up, my question however is that what does your resist screen look like? When I switch to my death school specific equipment my resists go down hill

I agree with you, sosanna. I prefer across-the-board defense items over school-specific defense. One exception is my balance char, who likes higher balance defense because she has shields for everything else.

At lower levels, if there is a particular school for which you have no shield because of what secondary you chose, a boost in defense against that school (rather than your primary) can be nice if you find it on an item that anyone can use.

For damage boosts, I prefer school-specific, or at lower levels when power pips are rare, a boost for my secondary.
